Redfish On Incoming Tide
Report Date: April 15, 2016
Redfish bite continues to be consistent on incoming tides. Pilchards and shrimp on a 2/0 circle hooks have been my baits of choice. Snook have made their way out to the beaches in preparation for their summer time spawn. Moving water and pilchards has been the key to maximizing your chances. Most bites are fish in the 25 to 34 inch range, with some slot snook in the mix. The bigger Trout continue to show up on the grass flats around potholes. Target channel edges and any depression where sand meets the grass - especially on lower tides. White bait and jerk baits have been working best with 16 to 23 inchers being the regular size, with a few bigger ones occasionally in the mix! Look for the tarpon to start showing up on the beaches, passes and flats as we continue into the summer months!
