No Red Tide Here
Report Date: October 20, 2018
No red tide here!! Water is clean and clear. Snook bite has been going off and on greenies and croakers; but grunts have been the go-to baits. A bucktail jig worked slow on the bottom can produce some bites in deeper areas when they're eating. Now is the time they get ready for their move to the rivers for their winter survival.
The redfish bite has been consistent on high to outgoing water. Pilchards and live shrimp seem to get them going along mangroves and oyster bars.
Spanish mackerel up to 7 lbs. has been good on moving water. Whitebait, gotcha plugs and any quick moving lure will get their attention.
Kingfish have started to show and will continue to get better as water temps drop. Trolling ladyfish, mullet, blue runners - just to name a few - anything that gets their attention.
Tight Lines,
Captain Dustin
