March Fishing Report
Report Date: March 25, 2018
Fishing has been good after these cold fronts have passed, when the water temps warm up a bit. The bait starts to show back up, and the fish get back into their spots, ready to feed.
The trout bite has been steady with greenies being the go-to on a float over the grass flats. Look for flats that have sand holes mixed in the turtle grass.
Redfish have been showing up on high tides around oyster bars and mangrove cuts. Shrimp, white bait and cut bait have been working well.
The snook bite has been on and off with these late cold fronts. Some fish have pushed out to the beaches, while others are hanging back making sure winter is over. Green backs, pinfish and croakers can work when they're in the mood to feed.
Cobia have started showing up in the flats. Some are just swimming around and are some laying in the sand holes. Any live bait can work. Bucktail jigs and rubber eels on a 1/4 ounce jig head can also work really well.
Tight Lines,
